When rebuilding houses, skilled laborers and expert tradesmen are often needed to carefully tear down and do the needed repairs.
When rebuilding lives, repairing wounded hearts, restoring broken relationships, healing lives broken down by affliction or illness, special care is needed to do the work of repairing, buiding, strengthening and making new.
The process of the rebuild to make things new and stronger isn’t always easy, but the end results can be phenomenal.
Let’s talk about it…
Broken Lives in a Broken World
The times we live in are tough. In fact, the Bible says that in the last days, men would be lovers of self rather than loving God.
God gives people the ability to choose His good and healthy path, or a path that can ultimately be quite destructive. The bad choices people make can sometimes damage and hurt us, and impact the lives of many others around us. We see this in the news, in our broken relationships, in our nation, in the world system. Our world is broken.
Yet there is hope.
Jesus says, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
We need peace. We need the work that only God can do. Our Living Savior, Messiah Jesus, has the power to do all that is needed.
He is able to work in individual hearts and do even more than we can ask or imagine.
Whatever your area of need is today, God is able to give hope, provide for your needs, heal hurt, repair damage, rebuild and give you a new start.
Each damaged wall, broken heart, each room of your life that needs strengthening, can be given to God. He can do a great work in your life, in the life of your family, your friends, neighbors, your co-workers – if you ask Him and trust Him with the work.
Jesus’ Finished Work
Jesus does the work that we could never do ourselves. He can handle the life broken by sin. His finished work on the cross, His life, death and resurrection frees us, heals us, and helps us to live a victorious new life in Him.
Jesus repairs. Jesus restores. He is able to make your foundation strong in Him – a foundation built on Him, the solid Rock – and not on sinking sand.
He can take the rubble, the weak and broken pieces of our lives, the damage, the trials, the past mistakes and failures, and give wholeness. He can deliver from a dark path, and lead us on His good path of new beginnings, finding our strength in Him.
Think of this:
- The God who created you and loves you is able. (ref: John 3:16)
- He can provide all you need. (ref: 2 Corinthians 9:8)
- He has overcome the world and gives hope in times that seem devastating. (ref: 1 John 5:4, Psalm 46:1)
- He gives us strength when we are weak. (ref: Isaiah 40:29)
- He can do much more than we can ask or think. (ref: Ephesians 3:20-21)
- He is all-powerful. (take a look at Psalm 147)
- And it’s His power that works in us that can also do a great work through us. (read Colossians 1:9-14)
“…being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:10b-14)
God can rebuild and strengthen your life, making it more beautiful than you can imagine, as you put your faith, hope, and trust in Him.
Pray daily, ask God, and watch what He will do!
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory..“ (Ephesians 3:20-21a)
HE REALLY IS AN AWESOME GOD!
PSALM 147:
“Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. 5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. 6 The Lord lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the harp to our God, 8 Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains. 9 He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens that cry.
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. 11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 13 For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you. 14 He makes peace in your borders, And fills you with the finest wheat.15 He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly. 16 He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes; 17 He casts out His hail like morsels; Who can stand before His cold? 18 He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel. 20 He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them.
Praise the Lord!”
